Biostatisticians, Medical Writers and Programmers
constantly strive to produce accurate and consistent statistical tables and listings in an environment where requirements are demanding and frequently evolving.
ClinPlus® Report (CPR) is SAS® based software designed to create high-quality statistical tables and listings quickly and easily from all types of data. Its unmatched versatility accommodates complex statistical summary tables to simple data listings and is the reason why it has been adopted as a standard by many including several of the top ten pharmaceutical companies.
Three major components comprise this powerful system:
-
The Report Engine, the foundation of the system, has been used by pharmaceutical companies in the U.S. and internationally since 1989. This engine does not rely on canned procedures like Proc Report, Proc Tabulate or Proc Print for report presentation, eliminating many limitations inherent in those procedures while retaining data-driven re-usability.
-
The Report GUI (Graphical User Interface) provides point-and-click access to the Report Engine. This eliminates syntax errors and extends the system to a wide range of users. The Report GUI allows you to create and manage pure meta-data templates that can be recalled, modified and used to create stand-alone SAS programs. Other features such as a global titles and footnotes library and format builder are included.
-
The RTF Engine is used to generate true RTF (Rich Text Format) tables for your final report without modification. This proprietary engine (not relying on SAS’s ODS) was designed with medical writers from major pharmaceutical companies to meet their complex demands. A single RTF style sheet may be used for all data presentations.
Produce complex FDA-ready tables and listings of NDA quality
CPR produces effective statistical tables, offering you over 70 different statistics across numerous SAS®/STAT procedures while letting you to choose precision, group and class variables, sub-setting, subtotals, and more. You have the final word in controlling the appearance of the table. CPR’s features assist in preparing the summary you want in the format you require.
Standardize appearance
RTF (rich text format) is produced directly from CPR for inclusion in word processing programs as native tables. Using RTF style sheets, you control font, point size, color, shading, border styles, etc., eliminating the need to reformat your tables in the final report. Titles and footnotes appear in table cells(s) and may contain RTF tags for Table of Contents or in-line style changes like bolding a single word. Automatic bolding of significant p-values, separate style for group headings, fine tuning by pixel of title and footnote alignment are just a few features that set this system apart.
Unrivaled Flexibility
Other systems rely on a library of pre-designed templates requiring your data structures to conform to their templates. If the table you want is not available in the library then you're back to programming. CPR is designed around a different philosophy to be a true data driven report authoring tool able to produce endless varieties of reports using any data structure including the CDISC standard. Users need only specify the location of data sets, views and formats. In fact, CPR is so flexible you can use it for marketing, financial or any other type of analysis.
Streamline table and listing production without sacrificing quality
Generating tables and listings can be a costly and time consuming undertaking. CPR streamlines this process by enabling a broad range of users to produce tables and listings without knowledge of the SAS® programming language. The point-and-click user interface is easy to learn and to operate, provides instant access to your data, and greatly reduces table/listing creation time.
Customize tables and listings to suit your needs
CPR has many features to address the complex requirements of clinical reporting. Uniformity options to control inclusion/exclusion of columns not present in the data, joining categorical and continuous statistics within a single cell, decimal point alignment, text wrapping on word boundaries, multiple justifications within a single title/footnote line, flexible page numbering (n of tot , n (Last), etc.), conditional footnotes, extensive page-handling intelligence, just to name a few.
QC and deliver
CPR will produce a separate executable SAS program containing only the SAS procedure code used when creating your table, that when executed will produce the raw procedure output showing your calculations as they appear on your table. This may be used for QC or documentation. CPR programs are stand-alone SAS programs and may be delivered to a third party along with the Report Engine macro catalog for execution.
